Today I am going to review the Neewer 2 Packs Dimmable 5600K USB LED Video Light with Adjustable Tripod Stand which I found through an ad on Facebook. Normally I do not respond to ads on Facebook due to the fact most of the stuff is junk. But the ad was for a Neewer product for an incredible price and it peaked my curiosity.
The ad was for the Neewer 2 Packs Dimmable 5600K USB LED Video Light with Adjustable Tripod Stand which sells on Amazon regularly for $49.99 for $22.00 with a coupon code. I have purchased many Neewer products in the past and have been pleased with their quality and price, not to mention how well they perform so I decided to make the purchase. Even if this product was junk, I was only out $22.
I ordered this product through Amazon on Thursday night without any problems, the coupon code brought the price to what was advertised and with tax the total came to $24.35. I received the shipment that Sunday.
All Neewer products are shipped within a brown cardboard box with the Neewer Logo in black letters on it. Inside the box was everything that was in the Amazon description, neatly packaged for shipping.
After unpacking an assembling the lights and light stands, it was time to see if I wasted my money or got a really good deal… I can tell you, I did not waste my money.
Using a portable power bank as a power source for the lights, I turned them on and they were very bright, I mean VERY bright. The brightness is adjustable through a controller on the power cord and it was very easy to adjust the brightness. At this point, I am very impressed. This kit came with 6 gels for the lights 2 Red, 2 Yellow and 2 Green gels sized specifically to fit the casing of the lights. Each gel fit and worked perfectly.
The stands that came with this kit are a different story altogether. They are not sturdy at all and are very cheaply made. The tripod that is to be screwed into the bottom of the stand is made of a very, very cheap plastic and the three legs are not even close to being level. The saving grace for the stands is that it includes two ball heads for the stands that have some weight to them. The ball is made of a sturdy metal and feels very strong.
Even with my disappointment with the quality of the stands, I am very impressed with the value of this package. I will use these lights as accent lights or maybe even to backlight a subject. In a pinch, the lights are a high enough quality where I could use them as a main light for a subject.
So the answer is YES, this product Is Worth It… Even without the coupon, I beleive that the Neewer 2 Packs Dimmable 5600K USB LED Video Light with Adjustable Tripod Stand has quality lights and is worth the price.
