Here’s a new wrinkle into my dreadful morning commute into Providence, RI… A train derailment! Yup, you read it right. A train carrying 30,000 gallons of highly combustable ethanol jumped the tracks this morning (3/8/17) at 1:30am. The tanker car, which was one of approximately 60 cars that were on route to Worcester, MA, jumped the track, slid down an embankment, went through a chainlink fence and came to rest in the middle of US 1-A (Allens Ave) in Providence. We made it through the Blizzard of 2015

Blizzard of 2015

After 31″ of snow, four hours of shoveling and numerous cups of hot chocolate, I think that I can safely say that we made it through the Blizzard of 2015 fine.  We sustained no damage to any of our property and did not loose power at all during the storm. As of 11:00am on Wed. January 28th our road is plowed (still covered with snow, but passable).  Most roads in Burrillville have been plowed and can be driven on without any major issues.
