Disney Bound

[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q57wu1eNTr8[/embedyt] After six months of research, planning, price comparisons and frustrations we have finally booked our 2017 Disneyworld Vacation.  Each year, for Christmas we have a big gift that is for the entire family.  This year it is Disney. We will be flying JetBlue from Providence (Warwick, if you are from Rhode Island) to Orlando and spending 7 full days at Pop Century with 7 days of Park Hopper Tickets bought from Undercover Tourist along with our Car Rental. We will fly home on Southwest Airlines with a direct…

It’s Christmas time again

Well it’s two weeks before Christmas, and I still have no idea what the hell I am getting everyone. I go through this every year and always run out two or three days before Christmas to get everyone’s gifts. I usually do pretty good, I think so anyway. You never know really what to get someone for Christmas. My wife always says that she doesn’t need anything or she doesn’t want anything but I know if I don’t get her anything I am in deep shit. My daughters are now…

Do we Spoil Our Dogs?

I’ve been told in the past that I spoil our dogs, I’ve also some people that think that I am too hard on the dogs and expect too much from them. I  think that I treat the dogs the way that they should be treated.  I do believe that they are members of the family and that a dog should not be chained or penned up outside of the home.  If you do this to your dogs, then why do you have them?  Our dogs are allowed in the bedrooms and…

Waiting for some Lightning Storms

On average, the end of May and through the month of June here in Rhode Island is the strongest chance of strong to severe thunderstorms throughout the year.  This has not been the case over the past couple of years though. We usually get 1-2 “Severe” storms and then about 6-12 strong storms in the area.  But the past two years, we have not had any severe storms and only 3 or 4 strong storms. For some reason, the storms roar through Connecticut and once they hit the Rhode Island line, they either dissipate…

Santa’s Getting Ready

As Santa Claus is warming up his sleigh, Leigh and I are finishing up on the last minute Christmas touches.  After our last meeting with Santa, I think that he knows that the girls have been very good this year both at school and at home. We are looking forward to a quiet Christmas day at home with the girls this year.  After such a hectic Thanksgiving, it will be nice to have a quiet holiday.  We will be spending Christmas Eve with Leigh’s family, as we do each year.…

T’was the weekend before Christmas

Well here it is the weekend before Christmas. The girls are at church tonight, practicing for the epiphany pageant. Leigh is up at Smithfield Commons finishing up any last-minute shopping. The girls are so excited for the holiday coming up. Jessica can barely contain herself. Our holiday schedule is pretty full we will be making the rounds to all the relatives houses, but Christmas Day is spent here. This is one tradition that my father passed down to me. I think that the girls should be able to spend Christmas…

Checking in

Hi everyone, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted to this blog. Things are getting real busy around the house with Christmas coming up. We’ve got just about everything done, just a few last minute gifts to pick up. Christmas is a pretty big thing around here. The girls get real excited for Christmas and are waiting for Santa to come on Christmas morning. The thing that I find now is that rather than games and dolls the girls are more interested in the expensive electronic toys. It…

Disney Dreaming

Every year at this time I start getting the itch.  I know that the temperatures are going to be dropping and I know that a ton of that white garbage is on the way.  So I start to think about warmer climates.  I start gearing towards our February vacation. I am always asked, “Where are you going to go this year Mark?” and the answer is always the same.  You see, I have two young daughters that have been brought up on (brainwashed) by Disney.  They have had movies, merchandise,…
